Flytrap
Downs
This is the home of the Cape Fear Rugby Club. Purchased in 1995, through the diligent work of the club members, the Flytrap was converted from a scrub forest, construction dump, to an admirable rugby park.
Boasting a full-size pitch with massive goals, opponents are loath to feel the wrath of the Fear Play/Officiating Critique Committee, situated on the elevated platform, above the scoreboard. Prior to development, the Flytrap was immortalized in film. In the opening scene of David Lynch’s Blue Velvet, the ripped-off ear, inspected by ants, was shot in the middle of the park.
